• Born in Florence, 16 June 1963.
• Degree in Agriculture at University of Florence (1989).
• From 1992 at CNR IBIMET (ex CNR IATA). From 2001 researcher at CNR - IBIMET. From April 2002 collaboration with project LAMMA (Laboratory for Monitoring and Environmental Modeling) funded to CNR-IBIMET by Tuscany Region by means FERS fund of European Union. During 2007 was born the LAMMA Consortium between Tuscany Region and CNR.
• Author of more than 100 publications. Amongst these 19 ISI (6 as first author). H-Index = 7 (ISI Web of Knowledge).
• Partecipation (on the section concerning the protection role offered by textile against UV radiation) to the project PRIN 2009 (2010-2012)“Medicinal and dyeing-plants natural extracts: characterization, and innovative poly-use of nettle, daphne, lavender and chesnut tannins” funded by the Italian Minister of Research.
• From 2004, responsible of several UV radiation measurement campaigns funded by some national project (MIDO, EFOP, TeleUV, Lavoratori Outdoor) with the aim to characterize different environments (natural and urban) by the point of view of the risk concerning human over-exposition to solar UV.  
• Partecipation as expert to several meetings of COST 713 “UV-B forecasting” and COST 726 “Long term changes and climatology of UV radiation over Europe” during the time periods “1998-2001” and  “2004-2009”, respectively.
• Partecipation to several studies on the impact of climate on biological systems.
• Scientific coordinator of the activity performed by IBIMET-CNR in the project MODERNO (May 2010 – September 2011) funded by Tuscany Region.
• Weather Forecaster al LAMMA Consortium. The activity includes weather monitoring for civil protection and dissemination through media of weather forecast.
